MEET YOUR COACH

CARLIE SELL
Carlie is an NDSU Vocal Music Education graduate bringing formal choral training and real stage experience to Amped's Choir Crash Course. She has taught vocal lessons at NDSU Music Academy, performed with NDSU Opera and Fargo Moorhead Opera, and sung with NDSU Concert Choir and Madrigal Singers.
Whether you're a seasoned singer or stepping into group singing for the first time, Carlie brings warmth, skill, and a genuine love for music to every rehearsal.

COURSE DETAILS

General Info

• Ages: Suggested ages 13+. Younger students who can follow group instruction and hold a melody may join upon request.
• Experience: Some singing experience recommended. Ability to carry a tune and follow song structure required.
• Voice Parts: ​Open to all vocal ranges - soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and everything in between!
• Materials: A Choir Packet with course info, tips, and repertoire will be provided.

Vocal Proficiency
Participants must have a basic level of vocal ability:

• Pitch: Ability to match pitch and sing in tune
• Melody: Ability to hold a melody and follow song structure
• Harmony: Some experience singing harmony is a plus, but not required
• Group experience: Prior choir, ensemble, or group singing experience is helpful but not required

This course is not designed for absolute beginners. If you have never sung before, we recommend starting with private voice lessons first!

What to Bring

• Just yourself and your voice! 🎤
  
• A PA system and microphones will be provided for rehearsals and the performance.
  
• Your Choir Packet will be provided at the first rehearsal.

Practice Expectation
Participants are expected to practice their individual parts and songs outside of scheduled rehearsal times to be prepared for each session and the final performance. Your Choir Packet and any provided audio files will help guide your practice at home.
