ABOUT KIRCI (she/her)
Kirci has been a public school teacher for 10 years after graduating with her Composite Music Education degree in 2013 at Valley City State University. She has primarily taught choir and has enjoyed privately coaching her public school students. She also spent 5 years as a director in the Fargo Moorhead Youth Choir. Some of Kirci's favorite experiences are taking students to honor choirs, contests and state music, as well as preparing students for a variety of performance opportunities both in and out of the school day. Recently, Kirci graduated with a Master's in Music from the University of Mary where she focused heavily on composing. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT MUSIC? What I love most about music is the ability to connect emotionally to others and to yourself. It has a way of stirring emotion that nothing else can replicate and is an outlet for sharing vulnerability. Even with no words, music can pull at your heartstrings and speak to your soul. CURRENT ENSEMBLES I sing with "Voces Aeternae" which is a hand selected ensemble that sings chamber music at St. Anne and Joachim church. WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 5 DESERT ISLAND ALBUMS?
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR FUN? I am an aerialist and fitness instructor. I perform on the aerial hoop (lyra) which is a metal circle that resembles a hula hoop that hangs from the ceiling. I also teach dance classes as well as pole fitness classes. When I am at home, I like to paint, sketch, crochet, bake, and spend time with my two kids. |
