ABOUT LUKE
Beginning under the tutelage of Maria Williams Kennedy at Bel Canto Voice Studio and Sue Kerr's piano studio in Grand Forks, Luke has been singing and playing ever since - deciding to pursue degrees at both UND and NDSU, where he performed in opera and musical theatre. Having studied with Dr. Royce Blackburn, Dr. Virginia Sublett, and Dr. Mariane LeMieux, he has had a wide variety of education regarding the voice, and applied these skills with the Lyric Opera of the North, Little LOON, Northern Lights Music Festival, and the FM Opera. He also served as a performer and music director for Walhalla, North Dakota's Frostfire Theatre for five summers. Music is very important to Luke, and when he is not performing in opera or musical theatre, he loves to play the piano, guitar, ukulele, and mandolin at home with his wife (also a musician), and has performed in the rock n' roll band Urho as drummer and his current band Tumbleweed Radio Band as keyboardist and singer. In the past he has also served as mandolin and guitar player for the bluegrass group Kohlrabi Soup. He also writes his own music, and has an EP on the way! Luke is excited to be a part of the Amped team! LUKE'S MUSIC Luke plays with his band, Tumbleweed Radio Band. Find them on Instagram. WHAT LUKE DOES FOR FUN Luke enjoys reading, writing, and drawing, as well as woodworking. |
