ABOUT MICHAEL
Michael Thorsgaard started playing piano at the age of 7. He has taken many years of lessons and continues to study and love playing piano to this day. He started playing trumpet in band and jazz band in middle school and through college. He played in a rock band in high school writing all their own music and having many live performances and recording several albums. Michael studied music at NDSCS where he participated in band, choir, show choir and jazz band. Michael has taken many musical theory and ear training classes. Music has been a big part of Michael's life enriching him with many friends and good memories. He has passed on his enjoyment of music to his children and is looking forward to sharing it with many more in the future. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT MUSIC? What isn't there to love about music! I love the emotions that music can bring out in people. Music has the ability to make a person feel good and dance. I'm so glad music can be your friend when you are lonely and help you through a sad time. I love that music can be shared and can bring people together. I love that there are so many ethnicities and different styles of music. I love that music can also be very personal and allow one to express their soul in a way that words can't.
